Report: Transneft: Czechs, Slovaks want to keep Russia oil imports
MOSCOW, Dec 20 (PRIME) -- The Czech Republic and Slovakia have asked Brussels to keep imports of Russian oil, or they will not be able to exist, Nikolai Tokarev, president of Russian oil pipeline monopoly Transneft, told channel Rossiya 24 on Wednesday.
"Both the Czech Republic and Slovakia have just turned to Brussels with a request to keep the volume of Russian oil supplies, because they really have no access by sea, they have no possibility to get oil from other sources," Tokarev said.
He added that the Czech Republic gets only a small amount of oil from Europe by pipeline.
Transneft plans to launch an oil pumping station in the Irkutsk Region until July 2024, which will allow it to additionally export 7 million tonnes of oil to China per year by railway via the Kozmino port, he said.
Tokarev also said that Russia's oil exports to India grew to 70 million tonnes and to China to 100 million tonnes in 2023.
